ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Brina Starler writes, and reads, romance novels and romantic fiction— anything with kissing will do. She lives in North Carolina with her husband, two boys, and a pup who bears a strong resemblance to Falkor the Luck Dragon, and has finally resigned herself to a future of asking tall people to get stuff off the top shelf.
Her debut novel, Anne of Manhattan, a modern day, grown-up retelling of L. M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables, will be out in the spring of 2021 with HarperCollins.
IN THE PRESS

Reviews & Early Reader Praise
“Anne Shirley fans will be jumping for joy over Anne of Manhattan, a modern retelling of a childhood classic. And Anne and Gil are all grown up in this Romantic Comedy, my friends! L.M. Montgomery purists are going to have strong opinions, which would make this an excellent book club pick. Brina Starler's love of all things Green Gables shines through in this story where Anne has grown into an intelligent, head strong woman and smart, sexy Gil is still in love with our favorite heroine. They haven't seen each other in six years, but meet again when Gil transfers to Anne's graduate program. They get reacquainted with each other when they're forced to work together on their thesis project. This one had me aflutter in nostalgia and I loved every minute of it!” ~ Jessica Nock, Main Street Books, Davidson, NC
“A sweet story of Anne of Green Gables reimagined as a sequel in modern times. A wonderful read for grown-up fans of the beloved children's classic. It was nice to spend time with these characters as they seem true at the core to the originals and so much fun to read in a rom-com story as we see twenty something Anne find her way as a student in NYC.” ~ Melissa Summers, Main Street Books, Davidson, NC
“Highly Recommending” ~ Rebekah Montgomery, Light & Paper, Mesa, AZ

"I enjoyed this steamy will they/won't they, enemies-to-lovers romance. Starler did an excellent job modernizing L.M. Montgomery's classic, complete with LGTQ2S+ representation and a nod to P.E.I. And the narration by Carly Robins was fantastic." ~ Red Brick House Books

"I loved hearing from both Anne and Gilbert’s voices. The story is ultimately about vulnerability, trust, support and acceptance. It was a fun and entertaining story that had my eyes leaking more than once. I thoroughly enjoyed it!" ~ PagesPoursandPups
